MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN – MobCraft Beer is hosting their fourth annual Mobtoberfest celebration on Sunday, October 3 from 12:00-7:00pm.  The street fest will take place on Virginia Street directly to the north of MobCraft’s taproom located at 505 S. 5th Street.  The party will feature live polka bands, German inspired fare, Oktoberfest themed games and competitions, and of course, German style beers.

The festivities kick off at noon with a three hour set from the Mike Schneider Trio.  The music continues with a traveling set from the Accordion Gal at 3:00pm and a three hour set from Ray Koncar and the boys beginning at 4:00pm.

Throughout the afternoon, there will also be various competitions including stein racing, stein holding, beer chugging, sausage sculpting and a polka dancing contest.

MobCraft Co-founder Andrew Gierczak extended a personal invite to attendees saying, “Come celebrate an age-old German tradition with us at MobCraft’s Mobtoberfest! We will be featuring our Oktoberfest and Kolsch German style beers as well as many others, with plenty of activities like stein holding competitions and hammerschlagen!”  In addition to serving an Oktoberfest and Kolsch-Style Ale, MobCraft will also be pouring up Eissturm, an Eisbock aged in a blend of oak and bourbon barrels; Eissturm Special Reserve, a limited release Eisbock aged in a Great Lakes Distillery Repeal Reserve Rye Whisky barrel; and Oaktoberfest, a limited release Oktoberfest-style Lager conditioned in oak.  Half liter steins and full liter boots will be available for purchase.

The menu will feature traditional German dishes including crispy smoked pork knuckles, dumplings, and knuddel, as well as fan favorites such as brats, giant pretzels, and funnel cakes.

MobCraft hosted Mobtobefest in a virtual format in 2020.  Event Manager Elise Strupp says, “We are excited to be able to host Mobtoberfest in person in 2021.  We’ve always hosted Mobtobefest outside; we look forward to being able to bring people together while staying safe.”  Unvaccinated guests are reminded to wear a mask when inside the taproom.  Mobtoberfest is a family and pet friendly event.

MobCraft Beer was founded in 2013 by Henry Schwartz and Andrew Gierczak.  It is the world’s first crowdsourced brewery.  MobCraft’s Milwaukee taproom is located at 505 S. 5th Street in the Walker’s Point neighborhood. Throughout the year the crowd submits and votes on beer ideas. At the end of each vote, the winning beer is brewed and available for all to enjoy. These crowdsourced beers are served in the taproom with MobCraft flagships, beers from their Wild & Sour Program, and more.
