Informational sessions held for communities seeking Main Street designation

MADISON, Oct. 3, 2013 – The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) has announced four regional Main Street Application Workshops to help communities apply for Main Street designation. There are currently 36 communities with Main Street designations in Wisconsin.

The workshops will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the following locations:

November 11 Hartford
November 12 Menasha
November 13 Menomonie
November 14 La Crosse

The Wisconsin Main Street Program will designate up to three communities in 2014, and attending one of the Application Workshops is the first step in that process. Communities interested in applying must send at least one representative to any of the locations.

Communities that are accepted into the program will receive free intensive technical assistance for the first five years and then a lesser amount of assistance after that. To register, contact James Engle at 608-210-6840, james.engle@wedc.org.
