(Milwaukee, WI) Sweet Water is pleased to announce the recipients for the 2nd round of the 2011-2012 Water Quality Mini-Grant Program. Twenty-one proposals were submitted for the 2nd round of this year’s mini-grant program with a total of $69,108 in support requested. Nine projects were selected with $25,190 to be awarded.
The recipients include:
Milwaukee Public School/Hayes Bilingual School — Kosciusko Native Plant Garden
Garden District Farmers Market — Porous Pavers Project
Friends of Hank Aaron Trail — Dog Owner Education
Transition Milwaukee — Wauwatosa Stormwater Tote and Education Project
Milwaukee Riverkeeper — Underwood Creek Stabilization in the Willaura Subdivision
Groundwork Milwaukee — Adullam Rainwater Harvesting Project
River Revitalization Foundation — Southbranch Creek Restoration
Root Pike Watershed Improvement Network — Island Park Bio Swale
Waukesha County Humane Society — Dogipot Installation Project
The recipients will be awarded their grants at today’s Clean Rivers, Clean Lake Conference to be held at Discovery World. These awards follow the eight grants announced in first round of the 2011/2012 Mini-Grant Program this past December
The 2011-2012 Water Quality Mini-Grant program is funded by the Fund for Lake Michigan, the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District, We Energy’s Wisconsin Energy Foundation, CH2M Hill and the Joyce Foundation.
