Tempo Milwaukee: Announces 2010-2011 board of directors

Milwaukee, WI (April 22, 2010) – TEMPO Milwaukee elected its executive committee and new board of directors at the Annual Meeting and Membership Meeting which was held at the University Club of Milwaukee April 15. More than 90 members and guests were in attendance for the election and program featuring Dr. Bert Davis, President and CEO of the Milwaukee Zoological Society. TEMPO Milwaukee’s fiscal year begins May 1.

President

Kimberly Kane is Director of Client Solutions with The Novo Group, a highly recognized and awarded search firm in Milwaukee. Kimberly started her career with Novo in 2006 as a recruiter filling senior level positions. In 2008, she moved into business development and has helped broaden Novo’s client base in healthcare, non-profit, academic, government and other business sectors. Before joining Novo, Kimberly spent 13 years in the television news industry; eight of them as medical reporter for WTMJ-TV. The State Medical Society of Wisconsin recognized her with the “2000 Medical Issues Reporting Award” and she received recognition from the American Cancer Society for her involvement in a special report on cancer. Today, Kimberly interviews physicians on camera and in podcasts, develops corporate and training videos and works with companies to strengthen their media skills in media training workshops. She is active on numerous boards and advisory boards: including the Meta House, University of Wisconsin Milwaukee’s College of Health Sciences and The Prairie School and TEMPO Milwaukee. She’s also a busy mom, helping her four children: Spencer, Dylan, Kyle and Evelyn grow as productive and self confident people.

Immediate Past-President

Gina Alberts Peter, Senior Vice President of M&I Marshall and Ilsley Bank, is in charge of Commercial Business Development in Wisconsin, Missouri, Kansas, Florida and Indiana. She has previously managed the International and Treasury Management Divisions along with various Commercial Lending groups at M&I Bank. Gina completed her MBA from the University of Chicago and her BBA from UW-Madison. Gina currently serves on the Board of the Boy Scouts of America – Potawatomi Council. She is also on the Board and Executive Committee of the Zoological Society and she is the incoming President of the Milwaukee Public Library Foundation. She is past President of the Milwaukee Athletic Club and past Chairman of the Visiting Nurse Association.

President-Elect

Amy Rislov is a Vice President in Human Resources for Aurora Health Care, responsible for human resources in Aurora’s Mid Market as well as workforce planning and diversity functions. Amy has worked for Aurora for thirteen years, providing leadership in a variety of human resources functions. As a member of TEMPO Milwaukee, Amy has co-chaired the first and second Leadership Event Committees, and most recently, the Program Committee. She is a member of the Summit Governing Body of the Aurora Health Care South Lakes Board of Directors and the Grafton Governing Body of the Aurora Health Care Metro Board of Directors. She is also on the Board of Directors of United Way in Waukesha County and the Arthritis Foundation of Wisconsin.

Vice President, Board Development

Kitty K. Brennan is currently a Judge on the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, Dist. I. She was previously the Chief Judge for the Milwaukee County Circuit Court, having been appointed to that position by the Wisconsin Supreme Court in 2005 and serving until her appointment to the Court of Appeals in 2008. She was a Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge from 1994 to 2008. Prior to her judicial career, she was an attorney in private practice for ten years and before that, an Assistant District Attorney for Milwaukee County for seven years. She was a high school English and Speech teacher prior to law school. She’s married to Attorney Joseph G. Murphy, the City Attorney of South Milwaukee and has four adult children.

Vice President, Communications

Susan Falk is President of Falk Group Public Relations. She has more than 17 years of providing strategic counsel to her PR clients. Prior to her career in public relations, Susan was a journalist at The Milwaukee Journal. Her public relations campaigns have been recognized by a variety of local and national industry associations, including the Public Relations Society of America, Foundation of Women Executives in Public Relations, Women in Communications and the Milwaukee Business Marketing Association. Susan founded The Falk Group in 2008 and serves as its president. She is an Advisory Board member of the Salvation Army of Greater Milwaukee, a member of the Milwaukee Press Club and is an active volunteer for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society – Wisconsin Chapter. She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Wisconsin with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Journalism and Mass Communication. She lives in Bayside with her husband Jeff and their two children, Madeleine, 12, and Lance, 10.

Vice President, Programs

Jennifer Bartolotta is employed by the Bartolotta Restaurants, where she is responsible for actively promoting and selling their five fine dining restaurants as well as their three catering facilities as venue spaces to businesses hosting events from 2 to 3500. Jennifer believes in developing strong ties to her community and sits on the Boards of: Care-a-lottas; Meta House; Wisconsin Humane Society, TEMPO, and is a raving fan of St. Marcus School.

Treasurer

Amelia E. Macareno Vice President and Private Banker at Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., specializes in providing clients with highly personalized banking services including customized credit. She is responsible for advising and evolving client relationships through the collaborative involvement of her team specializing in investment management, trust, and estate planning services. Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Amelia was Senior Vice President and Senior Commercial Lender with Harris Bank and its predecessor Merchants & Manufacturers Bancorporation. In addition to serving as the founding President of Hispanic Professionals of Greater Milwaukee for six years, she also serves on the boards of the Milwaukee Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), the State of Wisconsin Banking Review Board, United Community Center, Latino Arts, UW-Milwaukee’s School of Education Board of Visitors, TEMPO, Professional Dimensions, and La Causa, Inc. She has also been actively engaged on the steering committee of Milwaukee Women, Inc. and on the University of Wisconsin President’s Diversity Council.

Secretary

Sandy Wysocki is the Director of Circulation & Marketing for The Business Journal Serving Greater Milwaukee. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri and an MBA from Marquette University. Sandy is on the Board of the Waukesha County Chamber of Commerce, the Waukesha Family YMCA and Literacy Services of Wisconsin, the Milwaukee Women Inc. Steering Committee and the board of directors for the Waukesha Women’s Center. She is a past president of the State Board of Directors for the Children’s Service Society of Wisconsin. She is also a member of the American Marketing Association and the Executive Women’s Golf Association. Sandy enjoys vacationing in the northwoods with her husband, Paul, and her three children Mike (19), Matt (17) and Lauren (15).

Director, Community Outreach

Mary Scheibel is the founder and principal owner of Scheibel Halaska, Inc. She brings more than 25 years of strategic marketing communications experience to her clients. Prior to founding Scheibel Halaska in 1991, she held corporate communications and investor-relations positions for the Sara Lee Corporation and Wisconsin Energy Corporation. Scheibel is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and is the President of the Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter of the PRSA. She serves on the board of directors of the MMAC, Centro Legal, and TEMPO Milwaukee. Scheibel earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Truman State University.

Director, Fund Development

Linda Newberry-Ferguson has over two decades of success in health care, the last ten years serving in various executive leadership roles. Linda is the CEO of Kindred Hospital Milwaukee and has been in this role since January 2004. Linda received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Missouri and a Master of Healthcare Systems from the University of Denver. A leader in the community, Linda serves on the Boards of the American Heart Association-Metropolitan Milwaukee, the Wisconsin Leadership Board of the American Lung Association and the Badger State Science and Engineering Fair. Linda is married to Mitch Ferguson and they have four children, Derek, Chelsea, Megan and Jacob and a granddaughter, Austyn Elizabeth.

Director, Governance

Lisa Froemming is Vice President for Institutional Advancement for Columbia St. Mary’s and President/CEO of the Columbia St. Mary’s Foundation. As a member of the hospital’s executive leadership team she leads system-wide hospital fundraising, executes multiple community relations strategies, and oversees the hospital volunteer and retail activities. Lisa’s current service activities include TEMPO Milwaukee and Reading is Fundamental. Lisa is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, and lives in Mequon with her two children and two standard poodles.

Director, Member Retention

Julie Cashman-Kuhn is a CPA with more than 20 years experience in the tax and finance field. As a Senior Practice Director for Titus, a national professional services firm headquartered in Milwaukee, Julie manages the firm’s Wisconsin tax practice, providing consulting work for Titus clients, overseeing tax projects, managing and developing other tax professionals and assisting on sales calls for tax engagements. Her experience includes tax compliance and analysis, process implementation, Sarbanes-Oxley process documentation, tax research and general accounting. She is a graduate of Mount Mary College with a degree in accounting. Julie has two grown children, Robert and Christina, who still live in the Milwaukee area.

Director, Membership

Peggy Williams-Smith attended UW-Milwaukee and has been with Marcus Hotels & Resorts for over a twelve years, beginning as social catering manager at the Hilton Milwaukee City Center. Peggy became Director of Catering at the Hilton in 2000, cutting her teeth on large conventions such as the 101st and 102nd annual Veterans of Foreign Wars convention, the 2003 All-Star Game, and Harley-Davidson’s 95th and 100th anniversaries. After moving to the Pfister and various other roles with Marcus Hotels, Williams-Smith settled into a new role as Corporate Director of Catering in 2008, overseeing the entire portfolio of hotels’ catering departments. In addition to sitting on the board of TEMPO, she also holds a board position with UCP of Milwaukee.

Director, Mentoring

Louise Hermsen has provided leadership in marketing and employee communications and programs; government, industry and community relations; supported strategic, market and facilities planning. She has over 30 years experience in roles in marketing and support for Fortune 500 companies – 23 years at P&H preceded by 10 years at JI Case in Racine. Louise earned her BA at St. Norbert’s College and an MBA at UW-Whitewater.

Director, TEMPO Milwaukee Foundation

Denise Goergen is a Partner in the Employee Benefits Department of Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren S.C. She represents employers in all aspects of retirement, health and welfare benefit plans, including ESOPs, nonqualified plans and executive compensation. Previously, Denise was a Director to the National Employee Benefit Institute, based in Washington, DC.

At-Large Director, Leadership Event Co-Chair

Katie Clark is the Fundraising and Marketing Director for the Milwaukee County Council, Boy Scouts of America. She coordinates a majority of the fundraising events for the Boy Scouts in addition to her role as Marketing Director. She has most recently taken on the challenge of publicizing the Boy Scouts of America’s 100th Anniversary including an 18 month promotion and events schedule. She has been with the Boy Scouts in 3 different councils around the country for 18 years. She serves as a volunteer with the Experimental Aircraft Association and is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Katie is a private pilot, is married and has one little boy and one little girl.

At-Large Director, Leadership Event Co-Chair

Heather Fields is an equity shareholder at Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c. A member of the firm’s Health Care Department, she practices exclusively in the area of health law. Heather addresses a wide variety of health care regulatory and transactional issues in her practice. She regularly counsels clients regarding governance, medical staff matters, fraud and abuse, and HIPAA compliance. She also has unique and extensive experience structuring quality improvement incentive initiatives and other P4P programs and designing clinical research compliance plans and human subject protection programs. Heather is licensed to practice law in Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin.

Rose Spano Iannelli has 20 years of solid business experience with 15 years experience in the talent solutions field. Rose has a successful track record in the area of leadership, creative business solutions and strategic recruitment. She is a founding and managing partner of Spano Pratt Executive Search. Spano Pratt is an executive search firm serving a variety of industries including non-profit as well as for profit organizations. Prior to founding Spano Pratt, Rose worked for six years as an area manager for a national recruitment firm, managing multi-million dollar recruitment partnerships for some of the largest companies in Wisconsin. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Business from Cardinal Stritch University and is a certified Senior Human Resource Professional.
