MILWAUKEE — IEWC, a global distributor and manufacturer of wire and cable products, control panels, and engineered solutions, has received its fifth consecutive Top Workplaces Award. The recognition, based on feedback gathered through a confidential third-party survey of its global workforce, comes as the company continues to grow, including the recent acquisitions of Rochester, N.Y.-based Simcona and Sussex, Wis.-based Bevco.
As manufacturing faces an aging workforce and a shrinking talent pipeline, this recognition showcases how IEWC’s culture and benefits have become central to attracting, developing, and retaining the next generation of skilled workers.
“Our growth is driven by one thing — our people. When you invest in talent and build a culture where people genuinely want to show up, the business follows,” said Mike Veum, President and CEO of IEWC. “Every acquisition we make and every position we fill opens a new door for a family to build a career and a future with a company that is helping move industries forward across the world. That is what we are building here, and we are proud of it.”
To address the skilled labor shortage, IEWC is partnering with veterans’ organizations, local technical colleges, and workforce development programs to grow the skilled workforce the industry needs while strengthening the communities it serves.
IEWC is actively hiring 40 skilled-labor positions across its Wisconsin facilities, ranging from entry-level Electrical Assembler roles requiring no prior experience to advanced assembly positions for candidates with an electrical background. All positions are full-time with immediate benefits and paid on-the-job training.
“At IEWC, culture is something we build every day, and that includes building the next generation of skilled manufacturing workers,” said Brian Hinton, Chief Human Resources Officer of IEWC. “Through training, education partnerships, and a workplace where people are set up to grow, we are committed to investing in a winning culture where strong careers and strong futures are the standard, and where our people are empowered to deliver excellence to customers around the world.”
That culture investment extends to IEWC’s competitive benefits package. A key differentiator behind the company’s Top Workplaces recognition is its Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), a 100% employer-funded retirement savings program. Unlike conventional 401(k) plans where employees bear the primary savings burden, IEWC’s ESOP provides direct employee ownership and long-term retirement wealth at no cost to the employee.
While uncertainty has created headwinds across the manufacturing and distributing industries, IEWC has continued its capabilities and geographic reach as a full-spectrum global solutions partner serving the businesses and industries that power, wire, and connect the world.
