GREEN BAY, Wis. (June 6, 2017) — Aaron Stauffacher has joined the Dairy Business Association (DBA) as associate director of government affairs.
Stauffacher will support the director of government affairs by working to address members’ needs regarding policy and regulation through engagement with legislators, regulators, other public officeholders and association members.
Stauffacher has worked as a government affairs intern with DBA for the past two years while attending law school.
“Aaron is a natural fit for this position because he’s had a front-row seat for the changes and growth in programming at the association,” said John Holevoet, DBA’s director of government affairs. “His legal training and extensive knowledge of dairy farming and the challenges our community faces give him what he needs to serve the organization and our members well.”
Stauffacher graduated in May from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School. He has a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from UW-Stevens Point. He grew up on his family’s dairy farm in southwestern Wisconsin.
“I am thrilled to continue working with all of our great members to be an advocate on behalf of the dairy community to our policymakers,” Stauffacher said. “DBA has an increasingly important role in supporting our dairy farmers going forward and I am excited to be part of it.”
Among other responsibilities in his new role, Stauffacher will study proposed legislation and regulation at the local, state and federal levels to determine possible effects on members and the broader dairy community.
