(MADISON, Wis.) – The Urban League of Greater Madison Young Professionals (ULGMYP) is unveiling its
award-winners and future leaders for its upcoming Third Annual Emerge Gala. The event is presented
by Quarles & Brady LLP. The much anticipated awards gala continues in its tradition of bringing
outstanding young professional leaders together for an evening to celebrate their many contributions to
our community, while raising funds for two deserving local charities, the Urban League of Greater
Madison and the DOIT Information Technology Academy (“ITA”). Extraordinary young professionals
who are excelling in their chosen professions and community leaders who have impacted the young
professional community through mentoring, support and creation of growth opportunities will be
honored at the Gala.
The event will be April 30, 2016 at the Madison Concourse Hotel, 1 West Dayton Street, Madison with doors opening at 5:30 p.m.
Through ITA, high school students attend a two-week summer technology training camp held at UW-
Madison. Students who successfully complete the camp are officially inducted into the four-year
program and participate in technology training, pre-college seminars, and community building activities.
“The Urban League Young Professionals locally and nationally have been strong proponents of programs
that expose young minds to STEM related training and careers. The opportunity to support the work
done by ITA was an easy choice for our organization, while we continue to support the work that the
Urban League does in workforce development and education,” said Nia Trammell, Board Chair of the
Urban League of Greater Madison Board of Directors.
“ULGMYP is equally excited about recognizing an incredible list of honorees this year. These individuals
have worked to improve the quality of life for others in greater Madison and contribute richly to the
business community here, beginning with ULGMYP members such as Jennifer Ball-Sharpe, who will
receive the Outstanding Leader of the Year Award and Renae Sigall, who is receiving the Spirit Award,”
said Corinda Rainey-Moore, President of the Urban League of Greater Madison Young Professionals.
