Midwest Food Processors Association Announces New Insurance Product for Members
The Midwest Food Processors Association (MWFPA) and Hays Companies have partnered to offer an exclusive property & casualty insurance program specifically designed for members of the Association.
“We’re pleased to team up with such a well-established program administrator like Hays Companies so MWFPA members have access to an exclusive insurance program,” said MWFPA President Nick George. MWFPA is an advocate for food manufacturers in Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin in addition to their vendors located across the nation.
Hays Companies is one of the fastest growing risk management, insurance and employee benefits consultancy firms in the country. According to Hays Companies President Jim Hays, “We are looking forward to working with MWFPA, a leading trade association for food processors and related companies, and providing solutions to their specialty program insurance needs.”
The MWFPA insurance program will offer a complete insurance program for all business types, from processor to manufacturers, logistics to wholesalers and anything in between. No market segment is excluded, and no organization is too large or too small. However, in order to participate in the insurance program, businesses must be a member of the MWFPA. Here is a summary of coverage:
Commercial property insurance for buildings, inventory/stock, machinery & equipment…to include equipment breakdown coverage, builders risk and inland marine/mobile equipment Commercial casualty coverage that includes general liability insurance, medical liability and fire legal liability, pollution liability, products recall, cyber liability, surety/bonding, commercial auto & fleet and commercial umbrella Workers compensation Executive Risk, which includes crime coverage, errors & omission coverage and directors & officers coverage
According to George, this is the first time the association has offered an insurance program as a benefit to its membership. “Food manufacturers face spoilage, supply shortages, and equipment breakdowns as well as many of the other property and liability risks that other types of businesses face. Many of our members need insurance tailored to their unique situation,” he said. “This offering will provide an insurance package that addresses their needs.”
