TOMAHAWK, Wis. – The Plum Creek Foundation recently awarded a $2,125 grant to Westboro Public Library. The grant will fund the library’s “Computer Upgrade Program,” which will enhance digital learning with upgraded technology for library patrons.

The program will address the need for new computers, as the library’s current technology is outdated and slow. The library will purchase and install four new desktop PCs and four new monitors in March.

According to Candice Smith, director, the computers benefit Westboro residents of all ages who do not have access to the internet at home. The technology upgrades will help the library better serve these community members, who use the computers to complete homework assignments, online projects and other tasks.

“The new computers will give library patrons a much more efficient experience during their visits,” said Smith. “Thanks to the help of Plum Creek Foundation, we can provide quality resources and technology to our community.”

Westboro Public Library provides a safe, welcoming, respectful oasis in the community where people of all ages can find materials to help satisfy their informational, educational, civic, cultural, recreational and business/vocational needs. For additional information, visit www.townofwestboro.com.
