GREEN BAY, Wis. (May 28, 2014) – Visitors and train aficionados from around the region are
invited to celebrate the return of the only A4 Class locomotive in the country with the help of
a Joint Effort Marketing (JEM) grant from the Wisconsin Department of Tourism. The National
Railroad Museum was home to the British made locomotive, the Dwight D. Eisenhower, since
1964 and loaned the piece to the National Railway Museum of York, England for “The Great
Gathering” of 2013. Now the locomotive will return home to be part of a new exhibit, which
opens Aug. 2 and runs through Oct. The exhibit is estimated to generate an economic impact of
$240,000 from traveler spending at area hotels, restaurants and stores.
Two more JEM grant presentations will take place Friday May 30 at the Neville Public Museum
(210 Museum Place, Green Bay, WI 54303) at 10am on Friday, May 30. Full press release with
