Green Bay, WI – The Bay Area Humane Society is holding a “Double the Love” kitten sale starting July 16th. All approved kitten adoptions are buy one kitten, get one free. Adult cats six-months and older are free.

Last year, BAHS took in nearly 2,500 cats and kittens and expects this year to be just as busy. The spring and summer months are especially challenging because of the increased numbers of kittens and pregnant mothers entering the shelter. “It happens every spring and summer and the sheer number of incoming animals can be overwhelming,” says Director of Operations Kelly Sears. “Our primary goal is to help find forever homes for as many adoptable animals as possible. This program has proven to be a very effective method to greatly increase cat adoptions at numerous shelters across the country.”

The average non-spayed cat will produce 10 kittens a year and they almost all come in during the summer months. The Bay Area Humane Society is working to end this problem through education programs, low cost spay/neuter programs and ensuring that every cat and dog adopted from the Humane Socity is spayed or neutered.

The mission of the Bay Area Humane Society is to offer the best possible care and future for companion animals in our community through leadership, placement, and outreach. The Humane Society is not affiliated with any state or national agency and does not receive any government funding. The Bay Area Humane Society is located at 1830 Radisson St, Green Bay, and also has a pet adoption center in PetSmart at 825 Pilgrim Way, Green Bay.
