MADISON, Wis., May 11, 2012 – In honor of their 125th anniversary, Manitowoc, Wisconsin based Lakeside Foods recently donated seven truckloads of canned vegetables to Feeding America member food banks, including one truckload to Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin.

According to Lakeside, giving back to the community is a key part of their business philosophy. They donate to charities and public service organizations in every location in which they have a presence.

“Partnerships with food industry leaders like Lakeside Foods are a major component in our ability to bring healthy, nutritious food to thousands of people in southwestern Wisconsin who struggle with hunger,” said Dan Stein, President/CEO of Second Harvest Foodbank. “I can’t think of a better way to celebrate such a wonderful occasion than helping end hunger in the communities they serve.”

The donation consists of cans of French green beans, potatoes, corn, carrots, beets, wax beans, peas, mixed vegetables and Italian green beans.
