Wellness Council: 21st annual worksite wellness conference announces national keynotes coming to Green Bay

(Milwaukee, WI)—The Wellness Council of Wisconsin will hold its 21st Annual Worksite Wellness Conference, The Economics of Healthy Behaviors, on September 14, 2011, at the KI Convention Center, Green Bay, with expected attendance of over 500 health, wellness and business professionals, and 42 exhibitors and sponsors including presenting sponsor, Prevea Health. The event will kick off with Dr. David Katz presenting the morning keynote, “Feet, Forks, and the Fate of Our Families”. Dr. Katz is the founding director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center and founder of the nonprofit Turn the Tide Foundation. He is known internationally for expertise in nutrition, weight management, chronic disease prevention, and integrative care models. John Torinus Jr., chairman of Serigraph and author of “The Company That Solved Health Care: How Serigraph Dramatically Reduced Skyrocketing Costs while Providing Better Care, and How Every Company Can Do the Same” will present the luncheon keynote. Additional presenters include local and national experts such as Dr. Paul Terry, CEO of Staywell Health Management.

The two-day event includes the third annual pre-conference summit, Looking Beyond ROI: An Effective Wellness and Health Management Program Approach. Rita McCaskill, CEBS, Senior Health and Group Benefits Consultant of Towers Watson will facilitate this workshop discussing actual case studies and value assessments for worksite wellness programs.

The Wellness Council of Wisconsin was founded in 1985 by the Wisconsin business community. Membership has grown from 9 founding companies to over 425 organizations representing 430,000 employees. In addition, Wisconsin now has 63 Well Workplace Award winners and four active Well City projects.
