FREDONIA, Wis., Sept. 4 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Students across Wisconsin are saying goodbye to the dog days of summer today. But for some, the new school year starts no further than their home computer chairs. Thanks to an innovative online curriculum developed by K12 Inc., students of the Wisconsin Virtual Academy (WIVA) and Honors High Online of Wisconsin, schools of the Northern Ozaukee School District, are plugging in to their individualized learning programs.

WIVA and Honors High Online of Wisconsin are innovative, tuition-free, public online schools in which students learn outside the traditional classroom and receive instruction and guidance from certified teachers “virtually.”

“Our teachers and faculty have been working hard in preparation for the upcoming school year,” said Kurt Bergland, Principal of WIVA. Leslye Moraski Erickson, Director of Honors High Online of Wisconsin, added, “Our students are eager to reach their full potential, and we look forward to providing them with the individual academic attention and motivation they need to thrive.”
