Dept. of Commerce: Governor Doyle Announces Funding for Technology Development Projects

Governor Jim Doyle today announced that eight Wisconsin businesses will receive funding for technology development projects from the Department of Commerce’s Technology Assistance Grant (TAG) Program.

“Through my Grow Wisconsin plan we are supporting entrepreneurs as they develop new businesses that create good-paying jobs for our state,” Governor Doyle said. “These types of companies help move Wisconsin’s economy to the high end, and I am pleased that we could assist with the growth and development of eight companies with great potential.”

The projects are as follows:

InvivoSciences, LLC is a Wauwatosa start-up established to develop a method of testing that provides information about the physiological responses of cells. It will receive a $15,000 TAG to develop a STTR Phase II commercialization plan and to hire professional grant research and writing assistance.

Esker Technologies, LLC is a Milwaukee company established in 2003 to develop digital communications technology. It will receive a $6,000 TAG to hire professional business planning and grant research and writing assistance. For more information about the company, visit www.eskertechnologies.com.

NeoClone Biotechnology International is a Madison company established in 1999 to produce high-quality antibody products for biotechnology and research markets. It will receive a $5,000 TAG to hire professional grant research and writing assistance for a SBIR Phase l project. For more information about the company, visit www.neoclone.com.

Praesto, Inc. is a Fitchburg company established in 2005 to develop a device to transfer physiological data from the home to the electronic records of health care providers. It will receive a $5,000 TAG to hire professional grant research and writing assistance for a SBIR Phase I project.

Healthcare Technology Systems, Inc. is a Madison company established in 1997 to develop clinical computing systems that collect data directly from patients. It will receive a $4,250 TAG to hire a consultant and technical writer to assist with a SBIR I proposal. For more information about the company, visit www.healthtechsys.com.

Knowledge Builders Instructional Development Corporation is an Onalaska company established in 2004 to develop online training and professional development for healthcare providers. It will receive a $3,600 TAG to hire professional grant research and writing assistance for a SBIR Phase l project.

RelateNow, LLC is a Madison company established in 2005 to provide online healthcare and therapy delivery information about autism. It will receive a $2,650 TAG to hire professional grant writing assistance for a Phase I STTR grant.

Procubed LLC is a Kenosha company established in 2004 to develop a technology system for wheelchairs. It will receive a $1,500 TAG to hire professional grant research and writing assistance.
