Discover Mediaworks: Five Emmy nominations for Madison-produced shows

Discover Wisconsin and Into the Outdoors, two television series with production headquarters at Discover Mediaworks, Inc. of Madison, have garnered a total of five Emmy Nominations from the Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the National Association of Television Arts & Sciences.

The announcement was made Oct. 1 from Lawrey’s The Prime Rib in Chicago. Dean Richards, entertainment reporter and critic for WGN-TV and David Viggiano, entertainment reporter for WFLD-TV, served as hosts of the Emmy-nominations party.

This marks the fifth time that Discover Wisconsin, the longest-running tourism program in the country, has received Emmy nominations. It is the ninth Emmy nomination for Into the Outdoors, a series dedicated to educating children about Wisconsin’s natural resources and healthy recreational activities.

Discover Wisconsin received nominations for Outstanding Achievement in On-Camera Excellence in Hosting, and Off-Camera Excellence in Videography and Writing, and was nominated for Oustanding Achievement for Announcements/Campaigns. Into the Outdoors received its nomination for Oustanding Achievement for Children’s Programs.

The 51st Annual Chicago/Midwest Emmy Awards Ceremony will be held Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Park West in Chicago.

Discover Mediaworks, Inc. is owned by husband and wife team Mark C. and Lisa Rose, who are also Executive Producers for both Into the Outdoors and Discover Wisconsin.
