State recognizes plant, employees for stellar safety performance

SPRINGDALE, Ark. – December 9, 2014 – The Arkansas Department of Labor recognizes Rockline Industries’ Springdale, Ark. manufacturing facility yet again with an award for its exceptional safety record – five million safe work hours.

The award from the department’s Occupational Safety and Health Division recognizes companies whose employees have accumulated five million work hours without a lost day away from work due to a work-related injury or illness. In May 2014, Rockline was recognized for reaching four million safe work hours.

“We’re incredibly proud to have reached this five-million mark, and we owe the award to our valued associates who put a strong emphasis on both individual and team safety,” said Joel Slank, General Manager for Rockline Industries. “We take a continuous improvement approach to all we do in the facility. This is another great example of our associates’ efforts.”
Contributing to Rockline’s success is the company’s proactive behavioral-based safety program, which trains employees to observe work tasks and to provide immediate safety feedback to those involved. It also trains production team members to serve as safety coordinators who help improve training and communication at a smaller, teachable team level.

The award was presented to Rockline by representatives of the Arkansas Department of Labor on Tuesday, December 9.
