MADISON – Governor Jim Doyle today announced that Momentum West, Inc., Eau Claire, Eau Claire County, has received a $100,000 Regional Marketing Grant from the Department of Commerce (Commerce) to develop a comprehensive strategy to market West Central Wisconsin.
“We must draw on the resources and talent of all our communities to grow the state economy,” Governor Doyle said. “I look forward to working with Momentum West as we invest in West Central Wisconsin and drive economic growth in the region.”
Momentum West, Inc. will use its grant to identify a brand strategy to grow the region’s economic base. Specifically, it will:
* Conduct a branding study for the region, develop a brand, and establish brand-related marketing materials to reach target markets;
* Develop an up-to-date website that emphasizes the new brand, creates the proper image and provides the necessary materials for customers using electronic media;
* Develop a library of materials and services to assist regional companies as they seek to become successful in international markets; and
* Coordinate trade shows, site selector events and call trips for the region.
Total project cost is $229,000.
Momentum West, Inc. was established in December 2007 as a non-profit organization working on behalf of the 10 counties of Barron, Chippewa, Clark, Dunn, Eau Claire, Pepin, Pierce, Polk, Rusk, and St. Croix. Its mission is to develop partnerships and leverage the resources in West Central Wisconsin to market the region and grow the economy. Momentum West is the outgrowth of Momentum Chippewa Valley, which was established in the late 1980s and consisted of the three counties of Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls and Menomonie.
