MUKWONAGO, Wis. — Barracks BBQ, LLC, a Wisconsin veteran-owned BBQ sauce and seasoning company, earned two Top-25 finishes at the 2026 American Royal World Series of Barbecue Sauce Contest in Kansas City, Missouri.
Blazin’ Battle, Barracks BBQ’s spicy cayenne-and-chipotle BBQ sauce, placed 13th out of 94 entries in the Hot category. Smokin’ Soldier, the company’s smoky mild BBQ sauce, placed 21st out of 158 entries in the Mild category.
The American Royal bills its World Series of Barbecue Sauce Contest as the largest sauce competition in the world. The 2026 contest was judged April 9, with entries evaluated through blind judging.
Barracks BBQ was founded by Army veterans Tony Kamps and Chase Baker with a simple goal: create bold sauces and seasonings that enhance smoked and grilled meats without burying the flavor of the food. The company’s lineup also includes Mustard Gas, a Carolina-style mustard BBQ sauce, and Rub & Tug, an all-purpose dry rub.
Barracks BBQ is a Wisconsin-certified Disabled Veteran-Owned Business and an SBA-certified Service- Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB). Its products are sold online and through a growing network of Wisconsin retailers and restaurant partners.
