MILWAUKEE (Aug. 11, 2026) — At a time when pancreatic cancer research is making unprecedented strides, more than 150 pancreatic cancer patients, survivors and caregivers from across the country will gather in Milwaukee for one of the most unique and inspiring educational events.
The Seena Magowitz Foundation’s 2026 Power of Us Conference, taking place Aug. 21-23 in Milwaukee, was created specifically for pancreatic cancer patients, survivors and caregivers. Now in its fifth year, the conference connects attendees with nationally recognized oncologists, surgical oncologists, researchers, clinicians, nurse navigators and fellow patients for three days of education, support and hope. The conference is the largest in the world of its kind and has become a lifeline for families navigating one of the deadliest cancers, with just a 13% five-year survival rate.
This year’s conference comes at a time when many researchers believe is one of the most promising periods in pancreatic cancer research in decades. Long considered one of the most difficult cancers to treat, pancreatic cancer is now at the forefront of several scientific breakthroughs. Researchers are making significant progress in therapies targeting KRAS mutations, a genetic driver found in approximately 90% of pancreatic cancers, as well as immunotherapies and personalized treatment approaches.

There are many exciting treatments being developed, most notably the breakthrough discovery from Revolution Medicines. The company recently announced that its new oral drug, Daraxonrasib, was accepted for review by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The Medical College of Wisconsin is one of the medical institutions selected to distribute this new drug. Another encouraging development is a recent Phase 1 clinical trial in which a vaccine targeting common KRAS mutations generated strong immune responses in individuals at high risk for pancreatic cancer. Although larger studies are still needed, researchers say the findings represent an important proof of concept.
Throughout the weekend, attendees will participate in disease-specific breakout sessions, survivor and caregiver roundtables, expert-led educational presentations, wellness programming and opportunities to build lasting connections with others who share similar experiences. A highlight of the weekend will be Saturday Night’s signature dinner, which will be held right on the scenic lakefront at Discovery World.
