Madison International Trade Association (MITA): hosts Wisconsin World Trade Day event on May 19th

Madison, WI, May 13th, 2026 – The Madison International Trade Association (MITA) full-day event held on May 19th  will identify key steps to developing and implementing an international growth strategy; introduce tools, tricks, techniques and resources to succeed in global markets; and give business exporters the information needed to craft the most appropriate international growth strategy for their particular company.  The program will include information for both beginning exporters and firms that have done business internationally but are seeking to expand further, learn where the demand is growing, how global trends impact exports and how this impacts the Wisconsin-made products and services.

The event “Export Ready: Opportunity, Reality, Action” will be held at the Waukesha County Technical College (WCTC), RTA Education Center, 800 Main Street, Pewaukee, WI 53072, commencing at 8:00am; the program begins at 8:45 am. and conclude with Networking Happy Hour at 4:00 pm with the event ending at 5:30pm.

The event features a keynote address from Jason Turner, Chief Investment Strategist for Great Lakes Advisors, a Wintrust Wealth Management company, offering a forward-looking perspective on global markets and highlighting factors impacting emerging export opportunities for Wisconsin companies.

The program will also feature both theoretical and practical plenary sessions: how exporters can fast-track success opening overseas markets with key resources, and showcase real-life experiences and lessons learned from successful Wisconsin exporters, providing candid insights into challenges, strategies, and best practices for entering and succeeding in international markets.

The afternoon will continue with interactive breakout sessions focused on the practical “how-to” of exporting and diving into actionable steps for growing exports. These sessions will introduce the tools, programs, and resources available to support companies at every stage of their export journey.
