Reach Counseling: Celebrates 50 years serving community

Reach Counseling is delighted to announce the celebration of our 50th anniversary of healing lives and transforming communities in the Fox Cities. In 1976, Reach began as the Volunteer Sexual Assault Response team, and over the years evolved into a dynamic trauma clinic serving thousands of community members through advocacy, trauma counseling, prevention education, and sex offender treatment each year.

On Thursday, April 30th from 12-1pm (brief presentation to begin at 12:30) at the Appleton Public Library (200 N Appleton St., Appleton), Reach will host an event celebrating our 50th anniversary. Agency supporters and community partners will come together to learn about the history of Reach as well as hear our vision for the future. Attendees will hear from Reach’s new Chief Executive Officer, Misty Pickett, Chief Philanthropy Officer, Cassie Curry, and learn about Reach’s new consulting program, Reach Forward.

“This moment is about honoring where we’ve been while building momentum for where we’re going,” CEO Misty Pickett added. “Together, we can ensure Reach Counseling continues to evolve, expand access, and strengthen our impact for the future.”

For 50 years, Reach Counseling has been at the forefront of supporting individuals and strengthening communities as a culturally informed sexual assault service provider. Offering trauma counseling, advocacy, prevention education, sex offender treatment, and community-based consulting, Reach addresses both the immediate and long-term impacts of violence. As an anti-violence agency, the organization is dedicated to healing lives and driving lasting change through holistic approaches. Today, that need continues to grow, making community connection and support more important than ever.
