Milwaukee, Wis. — Milwaukee’s Environmental Youth Collaborative (EYC), a network of community-based organizations providing environmental programming and employment opportunities for young people, has launched a new fundraising and awareness campaign: “414 for Our Future: Investing in Milwaukee’s Environmental Youth.”
The campaign aligns with Milwaukee’s 414 Day (April 14) and highlights how local organizations are working together to support youth through environmental stewardship, career exploration, and paid work experiences across the city and Southeastern Wisconsin.
The Environmental Youth Collaborative brings together organizations that collectively employ 150 youth each summer, contributing over 24,000 hours of paid work focused on environmental conservation, arts, and community impact.
“It’s bigger than any of our organizations. The collective impact is why we are all here,” said Fidel Verdin, co-director of EYC member TRUE Skool. “This is a statement beyond our summer growing season in Milwaukee. This has an opportunity to have a ripple effect on new funding models.”
The campaign will support collaborative programming across EYC partner organizations.
Rather than competing for limited resources, EYC organizations work together to share resources, coordinate programming, and expand opportunities for youth. The collaborative model aims to strengthen outcomes for young people while improving efficiency across participating organizations.
The “414 for Our Future” campaign will run throughout April, featuring stories, videos, and highlights from youth and partner organizations, along with opportunities for community members to support the work.
