MADISON, Wis. – Agrace, a Wisconsin-based nonprofit health care organization with more than 45 years of experience providing hospice and palliative care, will hold its fifth annual Agrace Giving Day on Wednesday, April 8. This 24-hour giving challenge invites donors, community partners and volunteers who believe in Agrace’s mission to make a gift of any size or participate in an activity. Agrace Giving Day begins at midnight Wednesday, April 8, and runs through 11:59 p.m. Details are available at Agrace.org/GivingDay.

Thanks to a generous gift from Marilyn and David Peters, all donations will be matched dollar for dollar up to $10,000, doubling the impact for patients and families. Support from Giving Day ensures Agrace can continue to provide grief support programs that are open to everyone in the community, end-of-life wishes, specialized clinical staff training and care for patients who have no other way to pay.

The matching gift, made possible by Marilyn and David Peters, is inspired by Marilyn’s 11 years of volunteering at Agrace. She has seen firsthand the dedication of Agrace’s staff and the impact it has on the community. She and David chose to support Giving Day to help extend that same level of compassionate care to even more people in the community.

“What makes Giving Day special is how our community comes together to care for one another,” said Beth Larson, chief development officer. “We often hear from families who didn’t know where to turn before they found Agrace. Giving Day helps make sure more people have that support where and when they need it most.”

In addition to making a gift, community members can take part in several new in-person Giving Day activities. Donations of new teddy bears (10 inches or larger, with tags attached) will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Agrace locations in Madison, Janesville, Baraboo, Dodgeville and Wauwatosa. In Madison, visitors can also stop by the Johnson Dining Room during that time to help assemble gratitude bags for clinical staff. A free community bingo event will be held in Dodgeville from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 316 W. Spring St.

To participate, visit Agrace.org/DonateToday or follow Agrace on Facebook or Instagram to see what’s possible when the community works together. Gifts can also be made over the phone by calling (608) 327-7180 or mailing a check payable to “Agrace Foundation” to Agrace Foundation, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI 53711.
