Madison, Wis. — Operation Fresh Start (OFS) will host its 2nd Annual Women in Construction Week Career Fair on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 1:00–4:00 p.m. at its building at 2670 Milwaukee St., Madison. The event is free and open to the public and media.
Held in celebration of Women in Construction Week, the career fair will connect attendees with more than 30 employers across a wide range of trades. Companies will share information about open positions, apprenticeships, and training pathways for individuals ready to explore hands-on, high-demand careers.
This event is open to all ages and all genders—whether someone is just beginning to explore the trades or prepared to step directly into the workforce.
The first week of March is National Women in Construction Week. This nationwide initiative started in 1998 to help diversify the trades industry.
“Women only make up 14% of the construction industry workforce,” OFS Build Academy and Career Fair Coordinator Faith Neumann said. “I would like to see that gap grow smaller.”
This timely event also kicks off the hiring season for employers in the trades.
“This event also allows people in our community to gain access to self-sustaining wages,” Neumann said. “Madison is growing, and we need to support infrastructure needs.”
