GLC Minerals: Appoints Doug Webel, Ph.D., as CEO

Biosciences Leader Brings Advanced Science-based Solutions for Dairy Producers

GREEN BAY, Wis. — GLC Minerals has appointed Doug Webel, Ph.D., as Chief Executive Officer, following a leadership transition period during which Owner and Chairman Wesley (Wes) Garner served as Interim CEO.

Webel brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in animal nutrition, with a career focused on improving livestock performance through applied science, operational excellence, and customer-driven innovation, experience that closely aligns with the evolving needs of today’s dairy producers and nutrition partners.

Raised on a production swine farm and trained at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Webel has spent his career bridging on-farm realities with research-backed nutrition strategies. As former President and CEO of United Animal Health, he led growth initiatives, expanded global capabilities, and strengthened the connection between technical expertise and customer profitability.

“Our dairy customers value consistency, performance, and trusted partnership,” said Wesley Garner, Owner and Chairman of GLC Minerals. “Doug understands production agriculture and brings the leadership and technical depth needed to help customers navigate today’s challenges. I have complete confidence in his ability to lead GLC forward.”

As CEO, Webel will focus on supporting dairy nutrition programs, strengthening mineral and ingredient performance, and enhancing service and reliability across GLC’s supply network.

“Dairy producers face increasing pressure to optimize efficiency and animal performance,” said Webel. “GLC has a strong reputation for dependable products and partnerships, and I look forward to working with customers and nutritionists to build solutions that deliver real-world results.”
