Wisconsin Bankers Association: New Glarus banker celebrated for 50 years of service

NEW GLARUS, Wis. – Don Zimmerman from The Bank of New Glarus has been honored with a 50-Year Club Award by the Wisconsin Bankers Association (WBA). This award recognizes exceptional dedication to Wisconsin’s banking industry.

“Few achievements speak more powerfully than a career defined by five decades of service,” said Rose Oswald Poels, WBA president and CEO. “We are honored to celebrate Don whose enduring commitment has left an indelible mark on Wisconsin’s banking industry.”

Zimmerman started with The Bank of Juda when he was 17. The Bank of New Glarus purchased that bank in 2007, and he had been there ever since. Zimmerman retired in March 2025 marking 50 years in banking.

Zimmerman was recognized in a presentation at the Bank in March 2025.
