West Allis, WI – Recognizing individuals for their expertise, service, dedication, and performance in the golf business, the Wisconsin Section of the Professional Golfers’ Association of America (WPGA) proudly announces their class of 2026 Special Award recipients. Each year twelve WPGA golf professional honorees from the state receive special recognition during the annual WPGA Special Awards Dinner held at Glacier Canyon Conference Center at Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin Dells on February 23. The WPGA awards are proudly supported by the Wisconsin Golf Sales Association and PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
Headlining this year’s award winners is Golf Professional of the Year, Dan Hastreiter, PGA Assistant General Manager and Head Professional at Blackwolf Run (Kohler). This is Hastreiter’s second WPGA special award, being awarded his first in 2018 for Assistant Professional of the Year.
“This award is the result of many positive influences, role models, and mentors that I have been fortunate to have over the course of my career,” said Hastreiter. “It is an honor to be the recipient of this year’s award, and I hope to be able to serve as a positive influence for the next generation of golf professionals.”

About the Wisconsin PGA Annual Awards Process
The Wisconsin PGA honors golf professionals annually. Professionals are nominated by fellow professionals for an award(s). After a professional is nominated it is his or her choice as to whether to submit materials for consideration. Materials are generally due by early December. The materials are then reviewed by a different sub-committee for each award. The WPGA past president takes their feedback and finalists are determined. Once the finalists have been selected, their materials are forwarded on to the finalist committee made up of the district directors, independent directors and the WPGA executive director. The finalist committee votes on their top choice for each award. Once all the votes have been compiled, the winners are notified and then the information is released to the general public early in the calendar year. The winners are recognized for their accomplishment at the annual Spring Meeting Awards Dinner.
