MILWAUKEE (January 22, 2026) – This weekend, January 23 through January 25, Milwaukee is expected to experience extreme cold temperatures, with wind chills reaching as low as 40 degrees below zero. These conditions are dangerous, and residents are urged to limit time outdoors whenever possible.
For individuals and families experiencing housing instability and in need of a warm place to stay overnight, several Winter Warming Locations throughout the City of Milwaukee will operate with extended hours this weekend.
“The weather in our city will bring dangerously cold temperatures,” Mayor Cavalier Johnson said. “I want everyone to be safe. So, I encourage people to protect themselves and to look out for family members and neighbors who might need assistance.”
Below is a list of Winter Warming Locations, including addresses and extended hours of operation. Unless otherwise noted, locations open at 7:00 p.m. All sites are located within the City of Milwaukee.
Men Only:
• Guest House of Milwaukee, 1216 N 13 Street
o Open all day on January 23
o Open until 12 pm on January 24 and January 25
• Milwaukee Rescue Mission, 830 N 19th Street

Singles Only:
• Repairers of the Breach, 1335 W Vliet Street
o Open all day on January 23 and January 24
• St. Ben’s Parish, 930 W State Street
o Open all day on January 21 to January 26
• St. Vincent de Paul, 931 W Madison Street
o Open January 23 and January 24 from 11 am to 6:15 pm
• Unity Lutheran Church, 1025 E Oklahoma Avenue
o Open all day on January 23
o Open until 12 pm on January 24 and 25
