Bayfield, Wis. (Dec. 1, 2025) – Bayfield’s long-standing community grocery store has officially begun a new chapter. Andy’s IGA, a fixture in the community for more than eight decades, has been sold and will now operate as Bayfield Market under the ownership of Tim and Angela Hite.
A warm thank-you is extended to the Polaski family for their decades of dedication, hard work, and steady stewardship of Andy’s IGA. The store has been a cornerstone of Bayfield for generations, shaping the fabric of local life and serving residents and visitors with care. Its legacy will remain a meaningful part of Bayfield’s history.
The ownership transition, facilitated by Windseeker Realty Team – Coldwell Banker Realty, marks the culmination of six months of collaboration and commitment to keeping the community’s needs at the forefront. The team is proud to have supported this important milestone from initial conversations through the final signatures.
Tim and Angela Hite bring both enthusiasm and deep respect for the store’s history as they take on their new roles. Longtime visitors to Bayfield, the Hites realized a longtime dream when they officially purchased the store on November 3, 2025.
“With great respect for the store’s 80-plus years of service, the new name Bayfield Market reflects our commitment to advancing quality, service, and the overall grocery shopping experience,” said the Hites. “We are grateful for the kindness and support we’ve already received and look forward to meeting the year-rounders, day trippers, and weekenders who make this community so special.”
The store’s visual identity includes a personal touch: two peas in a pod, a symbol from the Hite’s 2001 wedding invitation that later foreshadowed the arrival of their identical twin daughters in 2003.
Bayfield Market aims to honor the past while introducing fresh ideas, renewed energy, and a continued commitment to local service and community connection.
