Above & Beyond Children’s Museum: Vollrath executive appointed to Above and Beyond Children’s Museum Board of Directors

Community Member Zach Salata Joins Children’s Museum Team, November 2025

SHEBOYGAN, Wis.  Zach Salata has joined the Above & Beyond Children’s Museum (ABCM) Board of Directors as of November 2025. 

Salata is the director of human resources at The Vollrath Company in Sheboygan. In his role at Vollrath, he focuses on leadership development, culture, and employee engagement. He has been an employee at Vollrath since 2014.

“Zach is all about helping people and organizations reach their full potential – he loves creating spaces where people feel valued and inspired to grow,” said Cate Tinker, executive director of Above & Beyond Children’s Museum. “He’s a big believer in community connection and lifelong learning, which is why he’s so involved in local initiatives that support children and families.”

Salata is a graduate of Lakeland University and Marquette University with degrees in Business Administration and Human Resources. He has served on the board of directors at Big Brothers Big Sisters WI Shoreline and the Sheboygan County Warming Center with additional volunteer experience on the human resource committee of the Boys & Girls Club of Sheboygan. 

He lives in Sheboygan with his wife, two children, and three dogs. He is passionate about inclusion, education, and mental well-being. His hobbies include reading, health, fitness, and fashion.

“I appreciate engaging with the Sheboygan community because I’ve seen how both individuals and companies come together to rally around a cause. Their shared commitment and generosity reflect the spirit of this community and make a real difference,” said Salata.

Salata joined the ABCM board of directors in September 2025.

He joins the current group of board of directors consisting of 10 other members to work cohesively and collaboratively with the team of staff at the museum.

– Above and Beyond Children’s Museum today announced it has received a transformational $100,000 gift from an anonymous community donor. Which just days later prompted another sizable anonymous donation of $100,001!

– New “Play for All” sessions are set to begin in mid-September with dedicated evening hours designed in partnership with the disability community on Wednesday evenings from 4-7pm starting September 17
– The museum is adding handicap accessible parking options to better serve visitors and the needs of our community
