Alliant Energy Foundation: Over half a million donated to support food insecure families in Iowa & Wisconsin

Largest donation ever raised through annual event by Alliant Energy Foundation

MADISON, WI – (September 30, 2025) – The Alliant Energy Foundation raised $550,000 to support programs that fight hunger and food insecurity in Iowa and Wisconsin. The amount is the largest on record in the company’s 19 years of hosting their annual Drive Out Hungerevent. This year also included a record number of sponsors supporting the cause.

In total, the event has raised nearly $7 million for hunger relief and provided over 30 million meals to help those facing food insecurity. Hosted annually during Hunger Action Month in September, Drive Out Hunger is Alliant Energy’s annual golf event and signature fundraiser connecting Alliant Energy’s business partners across the country to programs that alleviate hunger.

Funds raised from Drive Out Hunger will be distributed to seven local food banks serving more than 100 counties where Alliant Energy provides service, including:

HACAP Food Reservoir

Food Bank of Iowa

Northeast Iowa Food Bank

River Bend Food Bank

Food Bank for the Heartland

Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin

Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin

Funding from Drive Out Hunger will continue to support mobile food pantry programs, especially in rural and underserved areas across Iowa and Wisconsin. These mobile pantries bring food directly to communities that lack permanent food bank infrastructure, increasing access for families in need.

Funds will also be used to support trucks and equipment that enable food banks to rescue surplus food from farms and retailers as well as deliver fresh and shelf-stable items to partner agencies, schools and pantries.

“We are proud of the significant support we are able to provide to local food banks in collaboration with business partners from around the country,” said Aimee Davis, Alliant Energy Foundation Board Chair. “These investments improve logistics and expand the reach of food banks across the communities Alliant Energy serves in Iowa and Wisconsin. Next year, the 20th anniversary of the event, we aim to continue this upward trend of support and positive community impact. We are also proud of our employee volunteerism, which helps us carry out our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities.”

Throughout Hunger Action Month in September, Alliant Energy encouraged its employees to volunteer and support hunger and food insecurity programs. Many spent time at mobile food pantries and food packing events.

‘Hunger and Housing’ is a key giving area for the Alliant Energy Foundation. In addition, the Alliant Energy Foundation supports programs that promote workforce readiness, environmental stewardship and community safety and engagement
