The Northeast Wisconsin (NEW) Manufacturing Alliance partners with Door county manufacturers in videos featuring what is made and careers in Door county.
Ann Franz, executive director for the organization stated, “So many people think of Door County as a tourist destination, but the area has a strong manufacturing base.” She added, “The videos are in part to help residents understand what is made and the numerous careers available.”
The companies that are featured in the Door County video are Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding, Hatco Corp., Marine Travelift and Therma-Tron-X. The products made are numerous from Navy vessels to waste water treatment systems. Jacob a welder at Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding shared, ‘I’m always happy to say that I build ships for the US Navy.” He added “Its a great feeling that I’m doing something for my country.” The products made have a global reach. The “Career Opportunities in Door County” feature numerous job positions. The video lets the viewer hear directly from people working in the field sharing what they do and why they enjoy their position. Andy with Hatco Corp. shared “I’ve been here 3 years and I have already advanced to a management position.” Jen with Marine Travelift shared what she likes best is the company culture.
