Wisconsin Court Appointed Special Advocates: State Conference quickly approaching

One Day Event on the Importance of Child Advocacy for Neglected and Abused Children

(Green Bay, Wis.) The 2025 Wisconsin Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Association State Conference will take place in Sun Prairie, Wis. on October 23. Check-in begins at 9:00 a.m. with opening remarks at 10:00 a.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn Madison Sun Prairie (1220 S Grand Ave, Sun Prairie, Wis.). The conference is an opportunity for those who work with and advocate for abused and neglected children to network and learn how to be better supporters of children in need. The event is open to the public, but registration is required and closes on Tuesday, October 14.

The event will welcome MelissaRoshan Potter as the conference keynote speaker. Potter is a former foster child who embarked on her own journey towards healing from her traumatic experience in the foster care system. Following the keynote address will be two breakout sessions, and attendees are encouraged to listen to and engage in topics such as Substance Abuse Disorder, How CASAs and GALs can work together and DEI and Trauma Informed Care. This is a great opportunity to support Wisconsin children who need an advocate, along with networking with professionals who can support and assist those interested in volunteering.

“Our annual conference is the perfect space for individuals or organizations who work with youth impacted by trauma or those simply interested in getting involved with Wisconsin CASA,” explained Melissa Skalecki, Executive Director of the Wisconsin CASA Association. “We are able to connect as a network from areas across the state, bring new ideas and work together for the good of local children in need.”

Closing remarks will be at 3:30 p.m. with the event ending at approximately 4:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided for all attendees. The Wisconsin CASA Association looks forward to the event and fostering Wisconsin youth in need.
