Evans Transportation: Celebrates 40 years of continuous growth and momentum

Evans Transportation continues to find success in new business developments and growth amidst an evolving supply chain landscape.

DELAFIELD, Wis. – Evans Transportation, a full-service, third-party provider of custom logistics solutions for a diverse range of North American shippers, celebrates 40 years of continuous growth, customer partnerships and innovation in logistics technology implementation this month.

Founded in 1985 above a carpet shop in Hartland, Wisconsin, with just seven employees and a handful of customers, Evans Transportation has evolved into a 150-person organization with a nationwide footprint, a growing international presence, and over 3,000 customers served to date. What began in southeastern Wisconsin has grown into a technology-forward, service-driven logistics company managing freight across North America and now Europe.

“It’s incredible to believe that Evans Transportation began as a simple yet bold idea by my dad, Charlie, four decades ago,” said Evans Transportation CEO Ryan Keepman. “It’s been an honor and a responsibility to carry that vision forward, continuing to build the business with the same family-owned, people-first values he instilled from the start. Since 1985, we’ve grown our team, expanded our capabilities and evolved to meet the needs of our customers across the country and around the world. As we look to the next decade, we’re more committed than ever to delivering innovative, high-integrity solutions that move our industry and partners forward.”

Business Development Over the Last 40 Years

Over four decades, Evans has embraced continuous reinvention. Major milestones include:

  • Founding partners coded our Evans’ proprietary TMS – one of the first in the industry
  • The launch of a proprietary TMS in the early 2000s
  • Evans’ 2005 transition to an asset free, logistics model
  • A cultural and leadership transition in 2017
  • The addition of 4PL services in Europe in 2025
  • The introduction of Mexico cross-border logistics management with a new footprint in Laredo in 2025
  • The development of the company’s parcel division in 2023
  • The introduction of a Government Services division in 2025

These strategic shifts have fueled consistent growth, with revenue increasing by more than 600% over the past decade and a current client roster that now includes national leaders in manufacturing, food services, transportation and more. A focus on enhancing and delivering on the customer experience, named the “Evans Experience,” has taken priority as the company targets strategic growth areas in response to market demands. In an era dominated by automation and rate shops, Evans sets itself apart by leveraging innovative technology while maintaining a people-first approach. As the company looks ahead, its focus remains on delivering personal, strategic logistics solutions that drive value and are tailor-made for each shipper’s business.

“Partnering with Evans Transportation has been a game-changer for Diversatek Healthcare, so it’s clear why Evans has experienced 40 years of growth,” said Diversatek Healthcare Director, Global Operations, Jason Larcheid. “Their expertise and strategic approach to freight spend and rate negotiations have given us an unprecedented level of transparency and control. They’ve become a trusted partner, delivering not just significant cost savings, but also the clarity and insight we need to make smarter, faster business decisions. Their commitment to our success has made a lasting, measurable impact on our operations and bottom line. We’re proud to celebrate this milestone with them, and we look forward to many more years of shared success.”

A Focus on Being A People-First Business

Evans’ success is rooted in its people-first culture. Recognized multiple times as a Top Workplace by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and Minnesota Star Tribune, the company has maintained an employee retention rate well above the industry average. Beyond logistics, Evans also remains committed to making a difference. Through its Evans Makes a Difference initiative, the company donates at least 10% of profits annually to causes like the Ugandan Water Project, Little Warriors and the ALS Association. It also supports communities through frequent disaster relief shipments and its annual Crystal Axe golf fundraiser.

With six active offices across Delafield, Wisconsin; Eagan, Minnesota; Chattanooga, Tennessee; Laredo, Texas; Santa Rosa Beach, Florida; and Atlanta, GA, as well as growing logistics technology and international services capabilities, Evans Transportation is poised for continued growth in an increasingly complex supply chain landscape.
