MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee County proudly announces the opening of the newly constructed Marcia P. Coggs Health and Human Services Center. In this modern hub, residents can access comprehensive support under one roof. With expanded facilities and services, the center provides a lifeline for families and individuals navigating complex life challenges.
Some of the key Services Offered at the Coggs Center:
- Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC): Offering information, referrals, and assistance for older adults and people with disabilities to live safely and independently.
- MKE Mobile Crisis (24/7): Mobile mental health professionals available around the clock to respond to behavioral health emergencies.
- Crisis Response Team: On-site support for individuals in acute mental health crises, ensuring stabilization and connection to care.
- Children’s Services: Supporting child protection, foster care, and early intervention programs focused on child safety and development.
- Disabilities Services: Advocacy and access to long-term care, therapy, and daily support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Older Adult Services: Providing care coordination, wellness programming, and benefits access for seniors.
- Youth Justice: Offering alternatives to incarceration and restorative programs focused on rehabilitation for young people in the justice system.
- Transportation Services: Helping residents attend appointments, job interviews, and medical visits through reliable transport coordination.
“This building is a doorway to safety, dignity, and support,” said Supervisor Coggs-Jones, granddaughter of Marcia P. Coggs, after whom the center was named. “The centralization of key services reduces obstacles and improves access for every Milwaukee County resident.”
The ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the Center’s new home: 1230 W Cherry Street, in Milwaukee’s King Park Neighborhood. A community celebration, building tours, and a resource fair will follow from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
