GREEN BAY, Wis. – HSHS St. Vincent Hospital’s Women and Infants Center in Green Bay is proud to share a heartwarming and timely announcement during National Nurses Week (May 6-12) and ahead of Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 11: 14 registered nurses on their team of baby experts are expecting babies of their own!
The team of registered nurses, who dedicate their days in the Women and Infants Center welcoming new life into the world at HSHS St. Vincent Hospital, are now preparing to welcome newborns into their families. Known for their skill, compassion and calming presence, these registered nurses will soon walk the same path they expertly guide other moms-to-be through each day.
“This is an incredible full-circle moment for many of our nurses, some of which are about to become first time moms themselves,” said Amy Bardon, Director of HSHS St. Vincent Hospital Women and Infants Center. “Each of these women were already baby experts in their own rights, but for many of them their firsthand experience offering care to an infant, and moms for that matter, is about to further deepen. I am so excited for each of our nurses and the journey they are embarking on, and I hope they have a special Nurses Week and Mother’s Day.”

At the Women and Infants Center at HSHS St. Vincent Hospital, families are cared for in great part by registered nurses who have undergone advanced training and bring years of experience to every delivery and recovery. These nurses are not only clinical experts – they’re educators, advocates and partners in helping new parents feel confident and supported from day one.
“When our expecting nurses are ready to welcome their little ones into the world, they’ll be cared for by their friends and colleagues here at HSHS St. Vincent Hospital, and they find comfort in that,” said Bardon. “But even before labor, these women have already built some really unique bonds with their colleagues, and I love that each of them has the chance to go through this special moment with each other.”
With a history of excellence in labor, delivery and newborn care, HSHS St. Vincent Hospital’s Women and Infants Center offers newborns and families the most advanced maternal care, delivered by a team of trusted baby experts. HSHS St. Vincent Hospital also holds Advanced Certification in Perinatal Care from The Joint Commission, the nation’s largest accrediting body in health care. Care includes the area’s most comprehensive program, featuring Green Bay’s only children’s hospital – HSHS St. Vincent Children’s Hospital – and the region’s most experienced team of NICU specialists, located just steps from the Women and Infants Center when advanced care is needed.
