— Children’s Wisconsin brought in $308 million through a five-year fundraising campaign, exceeding its target goal by $8 million.
The health system, which has locations in Milwaukee and Neenah, today announced the completion of its Brighter Than Ever campaign. It was launched in 2020 and completed by the end of 2025, according to today’s release.
At least 70,000 people contributed to the campaign, including more than 45,000 who hadn’t given to Children’s Wisconsin before. Individual donations came from 50 states and 22 countries, ranging from 71 cents to $20 million.
Children’s Wisconsin President and CEO Gil Peri said those who donated are helping the hospital “continue to attract top pediatric expertise, develop new programs and services, and focus on supporting the whole child, including mental and behavioral health.”
The money raised through the campaign is being used for various initiatives, including efforts to end childhood diseases, the work being done at the Children’s Research Institute to improve precision medicine, expansion of the Milwaukee hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit, additional services at its Appleton clinic and more.
The campaign also supported a number of programs such as Project Ujima, a hospital-based violence prevention and intervention effort, and the Health Navigation Program that supports patient families.
Others include a mental and behavioral health initiative called the Change the Checkup Challenge, and the Child Life program, which helps kids with the anxiety associated with medical care.
