WALTHAM, Mass., February 26, 2026 – Thermo Fisher Scientific, the world leader in serving science, today announced it has extended two leases for its lab operations in Middleton, Wisconsin. The 20-year lease extensions reflect Thermo Fisher Scientific’s PPD™ clinical research business’ dedication to maintaining and strengthening the company’s global lab competitiveness within the life sciences industry in the greater Middleton region.

The PPD™ clinical research laboratories currently occupy more than 500,000 square feet of laboratory space in the greater Middleton region and employs more than 2,000 colleagues. The business offers end-to-end analytical services to support clinical and commercial drug development and is committed to providing services combining high-quality scientific expertise with industry-leading technologies.
The business’ laboratories have grown steadily in Middleton since the mid-1990s. Most recently, in 2024, the business opened a new 72,500-square-foot facility at its good manufacturing practice (GMP) laboratory, which added another 300 jobs in the region.
