MADISON, Wisconsin (April 2, 2026) — Nonprofit organizations looking to strengthen their impact and build capacity for the future now have a new opportunity through Catalyst Grants, a collaborative program between The Innovation Lab and the Alliant Energy Foundation.
Designed to help mission-driven organizations move bold ideas forward, Catalyst Grants provide nonprofits with access to customized strategy, innovation and organizational development support. Rather than offering traditional financial grants alone, the program invests in the long-term success of nonprofits by providing facilitated innovation that helps organizations solve challenges, align leadership and accelerate progress.
Through the Catalyst Grants program, selected nonprofits will receive Innovation Works sessions ranging from focused one-day strategy experiences to extended engagements supporting organizational growth and capacity building.
“Nonprofits are navigating increasing complexity as well as uncertainty, and many are asking for something just as valuable as funding: time, expertise and space to think strategically,” said Andy Kitslaar, Executive Director, Alliant Energy Foundation. “Catalyst Grants reflect our commitment to investing in the long-term strength of organizations that serve our communities by helping them align around priorities, tackle challenges and think outside the box to potentially become stronger than before.”
The program is designed to help nonprofits address critical needs such as:
- Strategic planning and organizational alignment
- Operational and process improvements
- Sustainable funding and revenue strategies
- Program innovation and community impact expansion
- Leadership and board engagement
Each Catalyst Grant experience is customized to the goals and challenges of the participating organization and facilitated by The Innovation Lab.
“Organizations don’t just leave with ideas, they leave with clarity, alignment and actionable strategies they can implement immediately,” said Eric Dregne, Innovation Services Director at The Innovation Lab. “The goal is to help nonprofits build momentum and strengthen their ability to serve their communities long into the future.”
Nonprofits interested in participating in the Alliant Energy Catalyst Grants program are encouraged to apply by May 1, 2026. Eligible applicants must be a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization operating within a community served by Alliant Energy.
