Sen. Hesselbein: Senate Democratic Leader Dianne Hesselbein (D-Middleton) applauds extension of postpartum Medicaid coverage

Senate Democratic Leader Dianne Hesselbein (D-Middleton) released the following statement after the Wisconsin State Assembly passed Senate Bill 23, which extends Postpartum Medicaid Coverage from 60 days to a full year:

“This is a very good day. Extending Postpartum Medicaid coverage will save lives, improve the health of moms and babies, and finally brings Wisconsin into line with 49 other States that have made this commonsense and humane choice.  I have been a champion of bills to extend postpartum coverage over many years, along with colleagues on both sides of the aisle and I have worked to get these bills through the Senate. I salute Minority Leader Neubauer and Democrats in the Assembly for their tireless and now successful efforts to get this legislation across the finish line and to the Governor’s desk.”
