Rooted In: Selected as one of 50 nonprofits for Give BIG Green Bay 2026

First-time participant among 197 applicants

[Green Bay, WI]- Rooted In Inc., a Green Bay based nonprofit focused on improving access to nutritious food through food recovery, scratch cooking, and community culinary education, has been selected as one of just 50 nonprofits to participate in Give BIG Green Bay 2026.

Give BIG Green Bay is a 24-hour online giving event designed to transform the way our community thinks about and contributes to Brown County charities. This year, 197 nonprofits applied, and Rooted In was generously selected as a first-time participant by the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation.

“This is a huge step forward for Rooted In,” said Selena Darrow, Founder and President. “We’re thrilled to have this opportunity to share our mission and innovative programs with a broader audience and to stand alongside so many organizations doing incredible work in our community.”

Give BIG Green Bay 2026 begins Wednesday, February 25 at noon and runs through Thursday, February 26 at noon. During the 24-hour giving window, every dollar donated to the 50 participating nonprofits will go further, thanks to matching funds.

The match is made possible each year by a $250,000 impact grant from the Green Bay Packers Foundation, along with generous support from other community donors.

“There are so many wonderful nonprofit organizations in our community, and they all do meaningful work that uplifts us,” Darrow added. “Give BIG Green Bay is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when generosity meets purpose.”
