McCarty Law LLP: Attorney Jon Fischer named as president-elect of the State Bar of Wisconsin’s Elder and Special Needs Law Section

APPLETON, Wis. [January 7, 2026] —  McCarty Law LLP, a top law firm in Northeast Wisconsin, is proud to announce attorney Jon Fischer has been named as the president-elect of the State Bar of Wisconsin’s Elder and Special Needs Law Section. He will begin his term in July of 2026. This appointment highlights Fischer’s leadership in protecting the elderly and special needs population and promoting excellence among elder law attorneys.

The State Bar of Wisconsin is a professional organization that includes all attorneys who hold a Wisconsin law license — over 25,000 members. The State Bar aids the courts in improving the administration of justice, offers continuing legal education, supports law student education and educates the public about the legal system.

“I’m incredibly honored to receive this appointment,” said Fischer. “My goal as president is to demonstrate to my fellow attorneys that elder law is both a fulfilling and deeply impactful career path. With the demographics of the Bar itself aging, it’s crucial that we inspire and encourage younger attorneys to join the Elder Law and Special Needs Section and dedicate their practice to this vital area of the law.”

Fischer has been with McCarty since earning his law degree in 2013. He specializes in estate planning, probate, Medicaid and elder law, as well as special needs planning. He is a certified Advanced Care Planning facilitator, a credential earned through the Fox Valley Advance Care Planning Partnership in collaboration with Community Care and Bellin Health. Fischer is an active member of several organizations, including the Fox Valley Estate Planning Council and the Wisconsin chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA). Additionally, he serves as a director for Wispact, a nonprofit organization that facilitates special needs trusts to people with disabilities.

Fischer holds a Juris Doctor degree and Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
