Brookfield, WI – Wednesday, March 4, 2026 – More than 500 attendees explored the exciting areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math at the Brookfield Central High School Main Gym on February 18th. Sponsors set up interactive booths showcasing activities from their respective industries. Students in grades K4 through 8 engaged in hands-on experiences designed to inspire curiosity and creativity.
“Our STEAM event was an incredible success, impacting so many Elmbrook student learners in meaningful and lasting ways,” said Elizabeth Simpson, EEF Explore STEAM chair. “We truly could not have done it without the generosity of our wonderful sponsors and the dedication of our amazing volunteers. The most powerful moment came when a mom reached out afterward to share that her daughter now wants to become a scientist because of what she experienced at the event. That is exactly why we do this—sparking curiosity, confidence, and dreams for the future.”
This year’s Explore STEAM event has truly inspired our next generation of leaders. Proceedsfrom the event will benefit the EEF’s 2025-2026 Funding Initiative: Unified Sports, a districtwide inclusive sports program. This initiative brings students with and without disabilities together to work as a team and form lasting relationships. The EEF is incredibly thankful for the sponsors, volunteers, and attendees who made this event possible.
EEF was organized in 1958 to award scholarships to select Brookfield High School graduates. In 1999, the Foundation’s mission expanded to include teacher grants for innovative projects that benefit all students and raise money to support and strengthen outstanding learning ideas that improve the overall educational quality of our public schools. EEF has awarded over $1,700,000 in scholarships and over $845,000 in grants which enhance and extend the established curriculum and support projects that are beyond the district’s budget.
