Bridges Library System: Memory Cafés offer support for caregivers and those affected by memory loss

(WAUKESHA, WI) – The Library Memory Project is proud to announce the 2026 schedule for Memory Cafés, available five times a month across various locations within the Bridges Library System. These cafés provide a space where care partners can attend alongside individuals experiencing early-stage dementia, mild memory loss, or mild cognitive impairment (MCI). By fostering an environment of support and fun community connection, participants can engage in enriching activities, enjoy meaningful interactions, and find support.

In 2026, there are 60 Memory Cafés scheduled at 19 different libraries in the Bridges Library System. “As the population of those experiencing memory loss increases, it is crucial that we continue to meet the needs of families affected by memory loss,” said Angela Meyers, Coordinator of Youth and Inclusive Services at Bridges Library System. “Our mission is to create a welcoming environment where attendees can find community support and maintain social connections.”

The Library Memory Project is an initiative of the Bridges Library System, public libraries in Jefferson and Waukesha counties, local aging and disability resource centers and the Alzheimer’s Association Wisconsin Chapter. The five project areas provide monthly Memory Cafés for free.
