Bayfield, Wis. — The Bayfield Chamber and Visitor Bureau is asking for the community’s help to reach its $20,000 fundraising goal for the Fourth of July fireworks. The 2026 fireworks show, held in Memorial Park, is still $4,866 short of being fully funded. If the remaining funds are not raised by August 1, the Chamber may need to reconsider whether it can continue hosting the fireworks show in 2027.
“The fireworks are funded entirely through individual donations, business contributions and proceeds from the 50/50 raffle. No taxpayer dollars are used to support the show,” said Carol Fahrenkrog, Executive Director of the Bayfield Chamber and Visitor Bureau. “We know the fireworks are an important Fourth of July tradition for residents and visitors, but the event can only continue if there is enough community support to fund it.”
The Bayfield Chamber and Visitor Bureau’s mission is to promote the greater Bayfield area by celebrating its unique charm, supporting local businesses and enhancing the vitality of the community for both residents and visitors.
The Chamber extends a special thank you to the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa for its major contribution of $1,500 to the fireworks fund. Thank you also to the following business and community partners that donated to the fund or sold raffle tickets: Good Thyme Restaurant, Keeper of the Light, Apostle Island Cruises, Washburn Marina, Sweet Sailing, City of Bayfield, Manypenny Bistro, The Bayfield Inn, Hoop’s Fish, the Town of Bayfield, Pier Plaza Restaurant & Lodging, Copper Crow Distillery, Daniel Skenderian of the Gichi Gami House and Apostle Rentals.
Anyone who enjoys the Bayfield fireworks and would like to help ensure the tradition can continue is encouraged to make a contribution by August 1, 2026.
