Automotive Fleet & Leasing Association: Karen A. Hurley, MA, CAE named executive director

Menomonee Falls, WI – Karen A. Hurley, MA, CAE, has been named the Executive Director of the Automotive Fleet & Leasing Association (AFLA). AFLA is managed by Association Acumen, an award-winning accredited association management firm based in Menomonee Falls, WI.

Karen has over twenty-five years of combined standalone association and association management company (AMC) experience, including nine years at SmithBucklin in Chicago, where she served as an Account Executive and Executive Director for three international associations. She was also Chief Operating Officer of the Society of Surgical Oncology for ten years.

Karen is a global visionary, adept at driving long-term growth and delivering strategic initiatives while fostering collaboration and implementing revenue-generating programs. She is skilled at leading boards, aligning mission with strategy, creating operational efficiencies, and working with teams to manage large memberships and conferences.

Karen is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and has a Master of Arts degree from North Central College in Naperville, Illinois. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts from St. Mary-of-the-Woods College in Terre Haute, Indiana. She has served as Vice-President of the Alumni Association Board of Directors at St. Mary-of-the-Woods College.
