The Community Is Invited To Explore The Dramatic Transformation of Above & Beyond Children’s Museum with 12+ New Exhibits and Features Unveiled in the Past 12 Months

SHEBOYGAN, Wis.  Acuity Insurance supports play in a big way sponsoring 12 Free Days of Play in 2026! Celebrating the importance of play and connection, Acuity and Above & Beyond Children’s Museum unite to offer FREE admission for ALL!

Mark those calendars! The Acuity-sponsored Free Days of Play are hosted once per month throughout the year on the following dates: January 21, February 18, March 18, April 15, May 20, June 21, July 19, August 16, September 16, October 21, November 18, and December 16. Days of the week vary to help accommodate seasonal schedules.

“We love teaming up with Above & Beyond Children’s Museum to create fun, meaningful experiences for families,” said Adam Norlander, Director of Finance and Charitable Committee member at Acuity. “By sponsoring a free day of play each month, we’re helping make it easier for everyone to explore, learn, and connect—while supporting the museum’s amazing mission to spark creativity and curiosity in every child.”

The Free Days of Play will feature an interactive craft led by museum educators in the Wonder Workshop. The Above & Beyond Children’s Museum team will develop heart-themed projects in celebration of the shape of the Acuity logo.

“At its core, Acuity exists to care for people and the vibrant communities where they live, work…and play!” said Josh Becherer, Manager – Communication at Acuity. “And its heart-shaped logo is a true reflection of the people who make Acuity who we are with three lobes representing our customers, agents, and employees.”

The hands-on, open-ended Free Days of Play projects are all about creating side-by-side, sharing ideas, and adding one’s own touch to a growing community masterpiece. Participants will help create heart-shaped artwork using a rainbow of materials.

“It makes our hearts happy to know that the museum can offer open, free access to families monthly in this coming year,” said Cate Tinker, Executive Director at Above & Beyond Children’s Museum. “With Acuity’s support the museum can continue to reach and connect with families with financial barriers and be a community hub for ALL. We are grateful for the community’s continued commitment to children and families, and for helping champion spaces where curiosity, creativity, and joy can thrive.”

In the previous 12 months, the museum has experienced an immense transformation to its interior offerings including exhibits, amenities, safety features, and more. Additionally the aesthetics of the space have been enhanced with a new color scheme incorporating the new rainbow-inspired branding throughout and with immersive, inspired programming. These sweeping transformations were only possible with the massive support of the community shown financially with donations and sponsorships, increased attendance and volunteers, and through partnerships.

“We welcome those that haven’t been to the museum recently to stroll through the museum’s colorful spaces following what is quite likely the museum’s most transformative year in its 30+ year history,” said Brian O’Laughlin, Senior Legal Director at Kohler Co. and Board President of Above & Beyond Children’s Museum.

The 12 new exhibits opening since 2024 are the Tree House, Light Board, Bird House, Net Tunnel, Culture Exchange, Wonder Workshop, Vet Clinic, Farm to Table, Climbing Wall, Pegboard Play, Rhythms and Rainbows, and Construction Zone. New signature programs include: Chomp Saw Workshop,  Immersive Storytime, Make Music with Me, Makerspace, Play for All, Toddler Time, and Baby Steps.

“If your last visit was more than a year ago we trust you will be delightfully amazed as you explore and play in our renewed and refreshed spaces and discover all the NEW elements and offerings,” said Tinker.
