Wisconsin State Cranberry Growers Association: Wisconsin cranberries return to state fair with signature treats and interactive exhibits

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. – Wisconsin’s favorite tart and tiny fruit is making a big splash again at the 2025 Wisconsin State Fair. Visitors are invited to stop by the Wisconsin Cranberries booth inside the Wisconsin Products Pavilion, hosted by the Wisconsin State Cranberry Growers Association (WSCGA), to enjoy, learn and celebrate the fruit that makes Wisconsin the nation’s cranberry capital.

Back by popular demand is the Cranberry Cannoli, created in partnership with O&H Danish Bakery. This State Fair-exclusive treat features a wafer thin cranberry almond cookie rolled and filled with smooth cranberry buttercream and completed with chocolate-dipped ends — a dessert as vibrant and unique as Wisconsin’s state fruit. The Cranberry Cannoli was a beloved Fair staple that originally debuted in 2018, and is now back after a five year hiatus.

Other featured items include a cranberry white chocolate chunk cookie, dried cranberry snack packs and cranberry juice, all highlighting Wisconsin-grown cranberries.

The booth will also include several interactive features:

  • The chance to put on waders and “stand in the marsh” at the Wisconsin Cranberry Photo Booth
  • A “Test the Bounce of Your Berry” plinko board with free giveaways
  • A mini cranberry marsh with real vines, irrigation system and floating cranberries
  • Meet a real Wisconsin cranberry grower daily from 2–4 PM and ask questions about life on the marsh
  • Daily from 1–3 PM: Meet the new cranberry mascot and share your name suggestions
  • Activity books and games for kids and recipe cards for adults
  • Educational videos and materials about cranberry growing in Wisconsin

“This is a milestone year for Wisconsin’s cranberry growers,” said Grant Holley, Executive Director of
the WSCGA. “Last fall marked 30 consecutive years of leading the nation in cranberry production. It’s been amazing to celebrate this achievement with our community. We’re looking forward to meeting visitors and showing them what makes Wisconsin cranberries so special. Cranberries are more than just a tasty treat — they’re a key part of Wisconsin’s economy and way of life.”

Wisconsin is the nation’s leading grower of cranberries, producing more than 60 percent of all
cranberries grown in the United States each year. Cranberries are Wisconsin’s number one fruit crop in both size and economic value, contributing nearly $1 billion and supporting more than 4,000 jobs across the state. Wisconsin cranberries are grown on over 25,000 acres spread across 19 counties.

WSCGA was founded in 1887 and is committed to developing and implementing programs that will
assist growers in doing a better job of growing cranberries and strengthening the public support for the industry in Wisconsin. To learn more about Wisconsin’s cranberry industry, visit Wiscran.org/Experience or follow us on Facebook and Instagram.
