Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce: Top 8 finalists advance in Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin contest

MADISON – Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) and Johnson Financial Group announced on Wednesday the Top 8 products moving on in the Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin contest. The eight Wisconsin-made products each won a head-to-head matchup in Manufacturing Madness, the bracket-style tournament that is part of the contest.

Nearly 150 products were initially nominated for the 10th annual competition, which aims to showcase the state’s vibrant and diverse manufacturing industry, including its $73 billion economic impact and nearly 500,000 jobs.

“We’re continually inspired by how passionately Wisconsinites rally around this competition,” said Kurt Bauer, President & CEO of WMC. “With the thousands of votes already cast this year, it’s clear that people across the state are eager to make their voices heard.”

The winners will compete in matchups to determine the Top 4. Those four products will compete in one final popular vote round to determine the ultimate winner, which will be announced at WMC’s Business Day event in Madison on Oct. 23.

Voting in the next round will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9, and end at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14. Manufacturers, employees, and consumers alike are welcome to participate in the voting. Votes can be cast once per day, per email address at www.madeinwis.com.
